Did the 2’ flag build. Took a couple times(On some scrap wood)getting the bit depth right on the Dremel but after that was dialed in……it was a breeze!!! Tip: they said to lightly sand the edges of the stars after….I put a little “burn” on those stars and the little fuzz torched right off!! Not to close with the flame but close enough! This turned out WAY better than I thought! I have wanted one of these for a long time to engrave the stars. It exceeded my expectations and my flag turned out awesome!! Veteran owned and made in the !!! Nuff said………..

Great product! Makes it easy to carve great looking stars. As they suggest, go as shallow as you can to avoid upper layers of wood curling up and out beyond the sides of the stars. I’ve ordered the stencil for the 36” union on Amazon and will be ordering the 48” stencil next. Thank you!

I initially wanted to hand carve stars I’m my flag but was unable to due to my arthritis. I was skeptical at first about gluing stars but after receiving my order I couldn’t be happier. My order came quickly and out of 300 stars I only had one damaged star. It took a few days for me to get to my first flag project after receiving the 2' template but I am extremely happy with the quality of this item. This makes it relatively easy to use my dremel to carve out 50 stars. I have hung this first flag in my shop. The stencil worked just like it is supposed to. Not only does it give you a clear outline of a very even star, because you are sliding the Dremel router attachment on a very thick and straight piece of steel, the stars also have a very even depth and flat bottom.

Great product! Getting the depth of the bit right is my issue. Having trouble getting the very top layer so is a much cleaner carve. Having trouble getting all the little splinters and it leaving a rough surface. But not anything to do with the plate, user error.

I did a few flags using a paper stencil, tracing, and carving out freehand with a Dremel. Wasn’t thrilled with the results so decided to take a chance on using one of That Flag Company’s stencils. I had been discouraged and didn’t expect much but.. complete game changer. Cut down on time which was nice but the quality carve along with a Dremel guard attachment was pleasantly surprising to say the least. Top that with the fact that I’m supporting a Veteran-owned American business and I couldn’t be more satisfied. I will be purchasing more stencils very soon. The metal stencil is great. I previously ordered the mylar stencil and was very disappointed in it. It was too light weight, very difficult to trace around, and unfortunately the outlines between the two stencils did not match exactly, so there are fine pencil lines on the face of the flag. I now have an extra stencil that is of no value to me. Like I stated the metal stencil worked great, and I can use it again if I get up the energy for another flag.
